How to Sign "Family" in ASL

Category: People
Handshape: F-hand (both hands)

Step-by-step

  1. Make an F handshape with both hands (thumb and index touching, other fingers up).
  2. Start with both palms facing outward, thumbs touching.
  3. Move your hands apart and around in a circle until your pinkies meet, palms now facing you.

Deaf-culture tip

The circle represents the group. Use the same motion with different handshapes for 'team', 'class', 'group'.
