How to Sign "Thank you" in ASL

Category: Manners
Handshape: Flat hand, fingers together

Step-by-step

  1. Place the fingertips of your flat dominant hand on your chin, palm facing you.
  2. Move your hand forward and slightly down toward the person you are thanking.
  3. End with your palm facing up.

Deaf-culture tip

The motion is similar to blowing a kiss. A genuine facial expression matters as much as the sign.
